Our message is the "Word of God ... This is your sword, use it." This Tee will remind you to use your sword in your day-to-day spiritual battle and let others know you're a reader and proclaimer of God's Word.
This t-shirt design came about as I was sitting at the Tampa Catholic Men's Conference in 2013. As I was listening to Fr. Larry Richards speak about spiritual warfare and our battle with Satan every day. "We, as Christians, must take up our sword in battle each and every day," said Father. The Sword of the Spirit, as outlined in Ephesians 6:17, is what Fr. Larry was describing - the Word of God. Father said, "This is your sword, use it." As a result, the entire design came together at that moment. And yes, Fr. Larry is a proud owner of the Word of God Tee.
What is the Word of God?The Word of God, also referred to as Logos - the Sacred Scriptures, or more commonly known as the Holy Bible. The Word of God can also refer to a word or message that someone speaks on God's behalf, such as a prophet. We know Jesus is the Word made flesh.
So in conclusion, our message to the world is, the "Word of God ... This is your sword, use it." It simply means that if you're not reading the Sacred Scriptures regularly and praying every day, you're not following Jesus fully. If you're not, then start immediately - like today, better yet, now! Every day, life is a spiritual battle. Thus, you must take up your armor of God and use your sword.
And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. (Ephesians 6:17)
